I wanted to do this post since start of this year, when I was searching a Android based phone myself – I was quite lucky to get hold of Samsung Spica – one of most “Value for Money” phone I have ever bought.
Now 6 months down the line, we still do not have too many Android Phones, especially the ones that will not dent your pocket too much. I have too many people asking me about low cost Android phones, so, thought of writing this post. Here are the 5 cheapest Android Phones currently available in Indian Market.
Acer BeTouch Price = Rs 8999/-
Acer has recently launched Acer BeTouch, which currently stands as the cheapest Android Phone available in the Indian Market. At less that 9k, it very difficult to go wrong with it.

Samsung I5503 Galaxy 5 Price = Rs 8999/-
Recently Launched Samsung Galaxy 5 is priced same as Acer BeTouch, but main difference is that Galaxy 5 has much better screen. Also, it is capacitive screen as compared to Acer’s resistive screen. Additionally, it comes loaded with Android 2.1 Eclair, as compared to Acer’s ancient Android cupcake 1.5 version.

I am not too sure about this phone, whether it is already launched or is yet to be announced – but it is very much available on the Flipkart site. Infact, I think for the price this Android phone is a steal. It has Android 1.6, which is upgradeable to 2.1, 3.2 large capacitive Multi-touch Screen, 5 MP camera and 24 fps video recording. It supports 3.5G and comes bundled with 2 batteries (awesome !)

Samsung Galaxy 3 (I5801) Price = Rs 11901
To be honest, I really like the full Galaxy series from Samsung – With all their Galaxy phones they have managed to pack in features while keeping very good price points. Samsung Galaxy 5 and Samsung Galaxy 3 were launched on the same day, latter being more features rich and expensive by around 3k. Galaxy 3 also sports Android 2.1 version and has home-grown Intutive Touchwiz 3.0 Interface.
